Hanson and Robertson was founded by Partners Hugh Robertson and Geoff Hanson
1973
Opened first high street office
1978
Opened a branch in Aberdeen
1981
Computerised the office-one of the first brokers in the UK to do so
1987
The firm was invited to become a founder member of the ICL Brokernet steering committee
1988
Pilot site in the UK for the use of laser cover-notes and proposal forms - now a standard
1990
Test site for the development of EFTPOS
1994
Awarded the 'Best Broker in Scotland' at the Insurance Times Awards
1995
Runner up in the 'Best use of technology' category at the Insurance Times Awards
1996
Hugh Roberston awarded Scottish Business Man of the Year for work done on Road Safety
1997
Entered the motorcycle market
1998
Name changed to H&R Insurance Services
1998
Moved to a purpose built office at Blackburn, Aberdeen
1998
Hugh Robertson  presented with The Scottish Business Service Industry Award for Excellence
1999
Established the commercial department
2002
Entered the taxi market
Geoff Hanson retired from H&R Insurance Services
2003
Achieved a top 10 ranking for customer service in the UK, survey performed by Motorcycle News
2004
Hugh Robertson retired from H&R Insurance Services
2005
Shona Robertson won the award for Young Achiever of the Year at the Insurance Times Awards
Present day
H&R Insurance Services now employ over 60 staff split over 2 offices
